At Mikumba Diving we are working hard to give you the best experience possible! One key factor to be able to do that is our beloved crew, the heart of the company. They work hard every day diving  in Komodo and our budgetliveaboard in Raja Ampat. In our dive center in Labuan Bajo we have friendly staff to provide you with all information, you’re welcome to drop by whenever to enjoy the air  in the office and popcorn fresh from the machine. On our daily boat we have five people in the crew and on our liveaboard there are ten sailors to manage and take care of the boat. This is important when we are diving in Komodo & Raja Ampat because there can be strong currents and it’s the crew’s responsibility to care for the safety onboard. The captain is the most important employee onboard the boat and he is usually the one who is in charge of making sure everything is ready before a trip along with a dedicated cruise director. During the trip he will make sure we arrive safely to the dive sites and together with the cruise director, plan and navigates our route. The Cruise director is also one of the most important people on the boat. He or she has the responsibility to organise the trip and will be the one who plan the itinerary and make sure you will get to experience the best diving in indonesia. During the trip the cruise director is always available for any assistance for the guests. Our cruise directors know a lot about Raja ampat diving and Komodo with years of experience. Another key person on the boat is of course our chef. The food is very important for us, and we believe it is a big part of the experience, that is why we focus on preparing the most delicious meals with both local and western style. Apart from these key people we need to have engineers to maintain our engines and to fill up scuba tanks and dinghy drivers for our smaller speed boats that will take us out and back from the dives. Last but not least we have our dive guides that takes care of our guests while diving under water. They are all certified PADI dive masters or instructors that will take best care of you under water and will conduct the dives in a safe and fun way. Get to know our team on www.mikumbadiving.com

Diving the Best Dive sites in Komodo

One of the most common questions we get asked is “what is the best dive site in Komodo” .  At Mikumba Diving we operate daily dive trips in Komodo and also liveaboards in komodo as well as dragon tours at Rinca Island so we are in a good position to answer this question. Most people who visit Labuan Bajo for diving have done some research and want to dive Batu Bolong.  This is one of our favourite dive sites in the Komodo National Park as it’s like diving in an aquarium.  You will be amazed here – schools of giant trevallies hunting, massive sweetlips hanging out, humphead napoleon wrasse cruising around not to mention the turtles, sharks and tonnes of brightly coloured reef fish.  We go here several times a week and never get bored.
